Jackky Bhagnani starts shooting for 'Anandwaa'

8th June 2018

After producing a romantic comedy titled 'Dil Juunglee' Jackky Bhagnani steps into his acting shoes. The actor was in the buzz quite a year ago when his film 'Youngistaan' was officially sent for the Oscars in the Best foreign language film category.

Now the 33-year-old started shooting for the film 'Anandwaa' on Thursday in Mumbai. The actor turned producer will play the lead role in the film, which is an ode to Hrishikesh Mukherjee's cult classic 'Anand'. The 1971 hit film featured the late actor Rajesh Khanna and megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. Although not much on Jackky's character is revealed as of now.

Speaking about this upcoming film Jackky Bhagnani shared his view through his statement that says, "I am very excited to play this role. Anand is such a poignant and beautiful film. I am honoured to be working for this project. The film requires a lot of sensitivity and what drew me to the script was how maturely the writing was handled. I am sure the audience will love the film."

Helmed by Abir Sengupta, 'Anandwaa' showcases the journey of a man who has to face some difficult situations in his life with a mettle of humour.
