(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen was rushed to hospital after suffering a hernia in his stomach, according to reports.

The troubled actor was taken to Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center yesterday after developing severe abdominal pain. There were allegations he had been taken ill after up to two days of partying with porn stars, with some reports suggesting the star may have suffered a drug overdose.

The speculation has now been allayed, after Charlie spoke to reporters from Extra while in his hospital bed. I'm not dying, he said.

The 45-year-olds friend Steve Brodersen then explained the star had a hernia. [It was ]worsened when Sheen laughed too hard at the TV, reports Extra.

Charlie is now facing the prospect of surgery, likely within the next few days.

The stars representative confirmed he had been suffering severe discomfort in his stomach yesterday, and it is understood his father Martin Sheen was with him at hospital.

Charlies ex-wife Denise Richards, with whom he has two daughters, has been spotted visiting the clinic too.

She had her hair down and looked very pretty, but she wasn't wearing makeup and she looked tired and drawn, a source told Us Magazine. Her eyes look like she's been crying.

It is claimed two 911 calls were made about Charlie in the early hours of yesterday morning, one from inside his home and one from his neighbour Dr. Paul Nassif. According to RadarOnline Charlie was not alert [and] out of it when he was taken from his house to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Last year, Charlie was hospitalised after allegedly being found drunk and naked in a hotel room while on a family holiday to New York with Denise and their kids. He was taken in for an alleged alcohol abuse and psychological evaluation. (C) Cover Media
