Charlize Theron has joked she'd need a "glass ball" to predict the success of The Hunger Games.

The actress and Twilight star Kristen Stewart feature in the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman, which also stars Chris Hemsworth.

When asked about the hotly-anticipated The Hunger Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence, the pair warned the film's success shouldn't be taken for granted before its release.

"Shake your glass ball," Charlize joked in an interview on The Today Show. "Tell us."

"I don't know," Kristen added. "I hope so... It's so obvious that no one signed on to that project to do the next big thing and I think that's the coolest way to see something get big. Hopefully, I would love them to be happy to be doing what they're doing. I can't wait to see the movie."

Kristen is famed for playing Bella Swan in the hugely popular Twilight franchise opposite Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Aside from the pair's new fantasy remake, there is another Snow White film hitting cinemas soon. Mirror Mirror stars Lily Collins and Julia Roberts.

Charlize has explained why the fantasy story is such a hot topic at the moment.

"It's kind of like Coca-Cola and Pepsi?" she quipped.

"I think these stories thematically bleed into a lot of stuff that is very relevant. So I'm not shocked that we're kind of having an outbreak of these classic fairytales being retold.

"I also think that there's a way to do them in different world and I think that's what the case is with this. I don't think Universal would have backed this film the way they have if they thought that we were playing to the same audience as the other one."

Charlize also spoke about her the new addition to her family, a baby called Jackson.

The stunning star adopted her son last week, and gushed about her little bundle of joy.

"It's going amazing, yes," she smiled. "He's scrumptious and delicious. Yeah, it's incredible."
