January 22, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Bollywood churns out more than 200 films per year and yet not all are super hits. Though most film makers are experts in their fields with a whole load of experience behind them, yet not every film they make turns out to be a block buster. However, there are those top line directors whose names are enough to bring about a huge interest in the films that they are going to venture out with.

So which are the top contemporary film makers in Bollywood that spell magic right from the word go?

Well to begin with the Yash Raj banner and the two top names associated with this outfit- Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra. These two are the epitome of Bollywood blockbusters and their intense romantic scenes set in the lush valleys of Switzerland like in films like Dil Waale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Veer Zaara and the recent fun frolic filled film Band Bajaa Baraat to name just a few are always a hit with the audiences.

Then comes the very stylish and popular name in film making Karan Johar. This is one name that spells magic with all or most of his films always striking a great rapport with the audiences due to the very basic human emotions imbibed in a surreal world. KJOs flicks like Kabhi Khushi Khabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and also the very classy My Name is Khan have enthralled audiences the world over.

Raj Kumar Hirani is yet another contemporary film maker who has huge blockbusters to his credit. His films like the Munna Bhai series or even the amazingly super hit 3 Idiots are great works of the art that shall remain in audiences memory for time immemorial.

There are many others like the most appreciated and respected Mani Ratnam who has churned out great films over the years. Then there is Vishal Bharadwaj, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Farah Khan, Sajid Khan, Rohit Shetty who all are considered to be some of the greatest contemporary film makers.
