Chiranjeevi-Balakrishna fight heats up

12th January 2012

Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna have not just been the pioneers of Telugu cinema for decades, but also close competitors. And the rivalry between them is like a hatchet that refuses to stay buried, if one has to go by recent reports.

Recently Balakrishna commented that Chiranjeevi floated a political party to become Chief Minister. Reacting to this, Chiranjeevi has said, 'Balakrishna is a good friend of mine. He is ‘Bala’ (kid), and I need not respond to a kid’s comment.'

He further added: 'What one requires is sincerity in politics. If you come into politics with selfish motives, people will not appreciate. Anybody with a commitment and sincerity to serve the people, they are always welcome into politics.'

After Chiranjeevi, looks like it is now the turn of Balakrishna to test his fortunes in the state politics.

Balakrishna, scion of legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao, made a grand announcement recently that he would plunge into active politics and contest on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party in the 2014 Assembly elections.
