Chris Brown could face legal trouble

23rd March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Brown could face further legal trouble following his alleged outburst at a television studio yesterday.

The singer reportedly smashed a window backstage following an interview with Good Morning America, after becoming annoyed when he was quizzed about his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Chris who was sentenced to five years probation and six months' community labour and told to stay away from Rihanna after he punched and kicked her in 2009 was promoting his latest album F.A.M.E. on a show when he was repeatedly asked about his troubled personal life. The 21-year-old singer was allegedly so irate after the interview he stormed backstage, smashed a window, was shouting in his dressing room and left without his shirt.

The New York Police Department said no charges or complaints have been filed by television network ABC or anyone else. However, since Chris is still on probation if a complaint was filed and he was convicted of a crime he could face time behind bars.

In the state of New York, criminal mischief is described as intentional damage to property, Criminal Defence Attorney Thomas Kenniff told FOX411.com. If the damage exceeds $1,000, its a felony charge. If its less, its a misdemeanour. Either one, however, is criminal and punishable by jail time.

If he is still on probation and charged with a criminal offense, the violation would spell jail time.

The situation began to become heated when Chris explained F.A.M.E. stood for Forgiving All My Enemies and Fan Are My Everything.

Journalist Robin Roberts then asked him who his enemies were and wondered if people still see him in a negative light because of his assault conviction.

Ive been focusing on this album, Chris said, growing visibly annoyed. So definitely this album is what I want them to talk about, and not what happened in the past, two years ago.

Hours after his interview, Chris was seen playing basketball in New York and visiting the Opera Gallery with his girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

Chris also posted an angry message on Twitter yesterday, criticising people who wont let him move on with his life.

I'm so over people bringing this past sh*t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there bullsh*t (sic)," he wrote, in a post which has since been deleted.

The star appeared to calm down ten minutes later, penning a direct message to those who buy his records. "All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy (sic)!!" Chris said.

Despite the incident, it is believed Chris will still perform on Dancing with the Stars on March 29. (C) Cover Media
