The Hollywood hunk is currently promoting Captain America: The First Avenger, which charts the origin story of the WWII superhero. When asked whether his character could withstand a fight with another Marvel character, Iron Man, Chris acknowledged that the superhero, played by Robert Downey Jr., is tougher than Captain America.
"Unfortunately, probably Iron Man. I've got to be honest. I'm being real," he told MTV.
Tellingly, Iron Man and Captain America will meet face to face next summer when both characters star in The Avengers, which also features Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye. If there is a scene that features Captain American and Iron Man fighting none of the cast will admit it, as the script by Joss Whedon is under wraps.
However, Chris did reveal that he loves the modern day costume he has to wear in The Avengers.
"In The Avengers, the suit is much more slick, it's modern," he said recently. "There is a lot of range of motion and it makes those fight sequences a lot easier. It looks fantastic."
While Captain America: The First Avenger is set during WWII, The Avengers sees the hero transported to a modern day setting. (C) Cover Media
