The blonde-haired pop star is insistent that she is not as impulsive as some people believe but puts careful consideration into her decisions about work and love.

A few months ago the 30-year-old split from her husband of nearly five years Jordan Bratman, with whom she has two-year-old son Max.

She has also recently celebrated her big screen acting debut as a small town girl who finds success and happiness in a burlesque bar in Los Angeles in the film Burlesque, which co-stars Cher. Christina insists she isnt worried about how critics view the movie as it is only her son who she tries hard to impress.

I definitely have always been smart about the choices that I make and why I make them, she told Access Hollywood. As long as my son is happy which he is I will continue to work hard to ensure that and to put together a body of work that he can be proud of.

Christina has admitted to idolising her fellow female soloist and Burlesque co-star Cher to the point of obsession. When Christina met the 64-year-old the moment was made awkward after Clint Culpepper, the President of movie company Screen Gems, told Cher that Christina loved her.

So when I went to the soundstage with my son on my hip and my flats on, I was so insecure, Christina said. I was like, Hi, Cher. Im the one that wants to drink your bath water. Thats me the obsessed fan stalker! We had a good laugh about it. (C) Cover Media
