The 35-year-old is best known for playing Joan Harris in the hit US drama series Mad Men. Although her profile is on the up Joan is keen to stress the only opinion which really matters to her is that of her husband. The star married actor Geoffrey Arend, 32, last year and says he manages to keep her centred despite working in a volatile industry. As a result she tries to show her appreciation to him at all times.

I just want to lavish him with as much love as I can. This business is so full of ups and downs and it can be destabilising. So when Im at home with my husband I have this sense of confidence that our life together is real, no matter what else is going on with our careers, she said.

Christina has also gained notoriety for her celebrated hour glass figure which saw her voted the sexiest woman in the world by the readers of Esquire magazine. The actress is quick to take the admiration with a pinch of salt as she remembers a time when her full figure wasnt quite so revered.
