The 29-year-old star married music producer The-Dream real name Terius Nash in September last year, but the pair split just a few months later. Christina worked closely with The-Dream on her new material, but will now be returning to the recording studio because so much has changed in her personal life since she first started the album.

Yes, I am just in a different place in my life. The original album I worked on, Elope, I worked on with my ex-husband, she explained in an interview with ET Online. I am single, free, confident, really happy where I am and I am having a great time. Plus, on top of that motherhood is going to make a difference, too. There are so many single moms out there.

We are going to do something that can relate to them as well. It is a new fresh start.

Christina has a nine-month-old daughter called Violet with her ex-husband and is determined to remain positive and be a good role model for the sake of her child.

The singer-and-actress is very close to her family, particularly her mother, and she says her loved ones have always been there to ensure she never takes her success for granted.

My family keeps me grounded. It has always been my mom, but now I have a beautiful daughter. I remain humble because I want to set a great example for her, Christina added. My family is everything to me. As long as I have them, I stay balanced and down-to-earth. (C) Cover Media
