December 21, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): After much speculations spreading across airs that Ajith Kumars Mankatha has been shelved, the producers clear up the buzzes with their official announcements. Recently, there were rumors that producers Dayanidhi Azhagiri and Vivek Karunakaran were literally disappointed with the expenditures of Venkat Prabhu, thusly putting shooting on hold for a while.
The official press release says that the first couple of schedules has been completed in Chennai and Bangkok. At present, huge sets of Mumbais Dharavi slum has been raised across 3 different places in Chennai. This 40-day schedule will have Ajith Kumar, Action King Arjun, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Vaibhav, Premji Amaran and others.
Following this schedule, the entire crew will fly down to Hyderabad and Mumbai for the final schedule. The makers are planning to wrap up the shooting schedules by March and kick-start post production works in April.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has already completed scoring music for three songs and will soon commence his next session for couple of tunes. Having worked with Venkat Prabhu in all his films, Sakthi Saravanan handles cinematograph for this film as well.
The producers have confirmed that the film will hit screens on May 1, 2011 for the occasion of Ajith Kumars birthday.
