Featuring Sara Ali Khan as the leading lady, 'Coolie No. 1' will be directed by his father David Dhawan, who also directed the original flick starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. While the title remains as it is, its not a sequel or remake of 1995 release, confirmed the actor to a leading daily. 

It is backed by Vashu Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment and will release on May 1, 2020. Sara Ali Khan and production banner too shared this good news on their respective social media handles. 

Currently Sara and Varun are dedicated to their upcoming projects Imtiaz Ali's untitled film and 'Street Dancer' respectively.
