Daniel Craig: Bond has softened

13th April 2012

Daniel Craig says James Bond is "softer and nicer" in the new movie.

The star is currently shooting Skyfall, which sees him play the iconic spy for a third time.

In Quantum of Solace, Bond was on a mission to seek revenge for the death of his lover. However, Daniel insists 007 has now dealt with his grief and is back to his old ways.

"He's much softer and nicer now. It's just different...," he told MTV News. "There was a story to telling Quantum that we had to finish off and round off. He was hurt and broken-hearted; he's not so broken-hearted. He's on the mend; he's feeling much better."

Little is known about the plot for Skyfall. However, it has been revealed that M played by Dame Judi Dench faces a testing time as her past comes back to haunt her. With MI6 under attack, Bond must risk everything to destroy the threat.

Daniel has discussed M and Bond's relationship in the new movie. He says it will be a "very important part of the film" and that they had fun shooting their scenes together in various locations around the world.

The actor went on to explain that Javier Bardem's villainous character Silva will also be integral to the storyline.

"There's also the very important relationship he has with the bad guy in the movie. We got Javier to come and do that, which gives the film a richer content," he added. "But his relationship with M, they are very close and they basically go on an adventure together, she gets out in the field. Judi, she'll tell you she usually films most of her stuff in the studio while we are all off in some wonderful location and she gets to come with us this time."

Skyfall will be released worldwide from November.
