(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rihanna thinks she would be "great" in a romantic film as she could draw from the experience of her controversial love life.

The singer stars as a tough-girl in action movie Battleship. Now she hopes to play out a love story.

"I would love to try something romantic in a film. I think I'd be great," she told news.com.au. "I think I'd have a lot to go back to, experience-wise, so it'll be good to play that."

Rihanna has made headlines for her past relationships. Her former boyfriend Chris Brown was arrested and charged with assault against the singer in 2009. More recently she has been linked to Ashton Kutcher, following his recent split from his wife Demi Moore.

The 24-year-old Umbrella star adds she loved the physical challenges of her work in Battleship. "I was ripped. I really enjoyed that," she said.

Director Peter Berg has said in previous interviews Rihanna proved her skills as an actress during the shoot.

She now wants her next movie to be a comedy.

"I really want to do comedy. That's what i really want to explore probably next."

Rihanna stars alongside Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgrd in the movie about a fleet of ships going to war against unknown origins. (C) Cover Media
