Daniel Radcliffe: Potter battle scene is moving

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Danel Radcliffe has hailed the pivotal set piece in the final Harry Potter movie as "moving".

The Battle of Hogwarts scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two is one that fans have been desperate to see, and was described by Rupert Grint last year as being "a bit of a war" film. But Daniel thinks it will also be very moving for fans of the boy wizard series.

"The collective cavalry of seven films' worth of characters comes back," he told Empire. "You see everyone you know: Jim Broadbent's (Horace Slughorn) there nursing David Bradley (Argus Filch). It's great, but it's moving because the whole of the world you've grown to know is in one place."

The film's screenwriter, Steve Kloves, was desperate to add emotion to the scenes after he became initially worried that it would be just be another action set piece. Luckily, director David Yates agreed with him.

"The battle, as a battle, didn't particularly interest me," explained Steve. "I knew David Yates and his team would come up with the scale and the spectacle, but David and I at one point talked, and agreed that we wanted to tie character and emotion to everything that happened. So it wasn't just, 'Oh, wow, look at that blow up!'. We wanted Neville involved, or Seamus. That was the hardest thing." (C) Cover Media
