Kannada actor Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi Sunday apologised to the people of Karnataka for their marital tiff which even led to the star's arrest.

Seeking to script a new chapter after being in jail for nearly a month on charge of attempt to murder his wife, Darshan apologised to his fans for misconduct as the couple vowed to move forward leaving behind the 'bitter' phase.

"Please pardon me. It’s a bitter incident of my life which should not have happened. Darshan will not do it again', the popular actor said. I am extremely thankful to my fans who were solidly behind me".

"We will assure you that such things will not recur in the future and our relationship will be further strengthened because of this episode", Darshan added.

Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi was equally apologetic. "We have committed mistakes and we have certainly made serious introspection over the recent developments. I think we will behave with a little more maturity. We have spoken to each other many times during my visit to jail to meet Darshan. I hope our bond will be strengthened and in the future our life would be more cordial", she said.
