(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dave Grohl thinks going to the cinema can be too much of a "gamble".
The 42-year-old Foo Fighters frontman has a cameo role in upcoming movie The Muppets, which stars Amy Adams and Jason Segel, and although he enjoyed being involved in the film, he isn't actually a massive cinema fan.
The rocker believes that movies end up being a disappointment too often.
"There aren't many movies that I want to see. It sounds ridiculous, but I don't go to theatres and gamble on movies," he explained.
"If I have two spare hours in any day, I can think of 100 things I'd rather do than sit and watch a movie. I've turned movies on at home and turned them off within ten minutes."
One film the musician did enjoy was Black Swan, the thriller which earned Natalie Portman a best actress Oscar at this year's Academy Awards. Dave had heard the ballet-themed drama was similar to 1995 dancing movie Showgirls, so decided to tune in.
"Recently, I watched Black Swan. But that was because someone said, Dude, it's exactly like Showgirls!' I was like F**k, I gotta see this!" he told Empire.
"At first, I thought it really is Showgirls but without the t*ts, and then it got really weird and dark and I enjoyed it a lot. I really liked it, actually." (C) Cover Media
