Tom Hardy: I don't want to be a fraud

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Tom Hardy has revealed he fears being considered a "fraud".

The 33-year-old British actor has seen his career soar in recent years, with roles in hit movies such as Inception, and he has also been cast in Christopher Nolan's upcoming superhero film The Dark Knight Rises.

Tom portrays Tom Conlon, the youngest son of an alcoholic former boxer who gets trained by his father, in action drama Warrior. The movie is set for release later this year and he admits feeling nervous about his performance.

"Entirely that," he replied, when asked if he feared feeling like a fraud.

"And without being exposed as a fraud. That's part of the game. As an actor, you always think, Oh I'm rubbish.' But also I'm terrified of big men!

"I'm not a fighter, not at all. So for me it was a challenge. Could I achieve that kind of physicality and convince anybody in any way that I might possibly be able to be a fighter? That was the challenge. And I'm happy with the result."

Tom is well aware of his rapid rise in Hollywood recently, although he won't allow himself to be cocky. The hunk explained being a movie star can be tough as directors are constantly picking and choosing their current favourite.

"It's like being on a conveyor belt," he told Empire. "It was my time to be picked off. I'm just waiting to be put back in the box and forgotten." (C) Cover Media
