(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Arquette appreciates the "strength and guidance" he received from loved ones as he acknowledges his first year free of drink.
The 40-year-old actor fell into a pit of depression and began abusing drink in October 2010 following his separation from wife Courtney Cox.
After his family and friends voiced their concern about his health, David checked himself into rehab in January.
David benefitted greatly from his treatment and is happy with the progress that he's made as a result.
"Today marks 1 year of sobriety for me. I thank God for the strength and guidance and my family and friends for their love and support (sic)," David posted on Twitter today.
David and Courtney officially separated in 2010, but remain on amicable terms with each other.
The pair have a seven-year-old daughter named Coco together.
Since his stint in rehab, David has performed on American reality television programme Dancing with the Stars as a contestant.
