Day 6 at MAMI ends with memorable films

The 13th Mumbai Film Festival has such a wonderful collection of International cinema that it gets difficult to decide which movie is the best. But, the Day 6 of the fest saw the finest cinema in this year's fest so far. Habemus Papam by Nanni Moretti, The Yellow Sea (The Murderer) by NA Hong-jin and the Oscar entry for India Abu, Son of Adam by Dalim Ahmed were among the top favourite. A crowd was also gathered to watch the movie Love Wrinkle Free whose cast was also present for the screening.

The biggest film and one of the most awaited was without doubt Melancholia by Lars Von Trier. People actually missed the movies before Melancholia's show only to be able to stand in the queues and get a seat inside. The movie had two screenings and both saw a full house. Another touching movie of the day was 'Historias Que So Existem Quando Sao Lembradas' (Stories only exist when told) by Julia Murat. The director was also present at the screening and said, "I know considering the fast life in Mumbai, this film will be considered too slow but I felt that the story needed it to be slow." She also thanked everyone for sitting through the entire film and exclaimed that she was extremely pleased with the response the movie got.

The festival saw many celebrities like Kiran Rao, Renuka Shahane, Vikramaditya Motwane, Onir, Aditya raj Kapoor, Shruti Seth, Danish Aslam, Nikhil Advani, Shibani Kashyap, Salim Ahamed, Nausheen Sardar Ali, Rajit Kapoor, Aswin Mushran, Sohrab Ardeshir and Nishikant Kamat. A press conference for the Dimensions Mumbai Short film competition was also held and Kiran Rao, Renuka Shahane, Vikramaditya Motwani, Onir and Nishikanth Kamath were at present as speakers.

The 6th day concluded with much fanfare with audiences and the celebrities praising the arrangements and schedule of the day. With the festival drawing closer to its end, audiences are packing in to catch the best of world cinema in the city.
