Bollywood actress Dia Mirza broke a zillion hearts last weekend when she got hitched to her beau Sahil Sangha after four years of courtship. The head-strong actress planned and rolled out the whole wedding with her now hubby Sahil as she didn't want one person to be responsible for the arrangements.
The actress not only showed maturity as a bride but also a true blue humanitarian when she twisted a regular blessing that was chanted by the priest as a ritual at the wedding.
While the priest was chanting prayers, he also blessed the couple with the 'Jald Putra Ho' (May God Bless you with a Baby Boy) blessing, to which Dia immediately interrupted him saying 'Jald Putri Ho' (Baby Girl). While everyone was stunned and surprised with her brave intervention, it is good to see someone not just preach about getting equality for the fairer sex in society but also pray for the same.
The wedding was a fairy tale set up with the flower theme but minus the 'big fat Indian wedding' hullabaloo. It was also a very intimate affair as the wedding wasn't held at any five star hotel but their farm house in New Delhi in the presence of close family and friends.
From the industry, Dia's close buddies Rajkumar Hirani, Lara Dutta with Mahesh Bhupathi, Sushmita Sen, Roshan Seth, Nikhil Advani, Aditi Rao Hydari, Pallavi Sharda and Cyrus Sahukar attended the wedding.
