Diane Kruger: Fashion police are silly

16th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Diane Kruger has described the notion of fashion police as the silliest thing ever invented.

The 34-year-old German actress has appeared in top Hollywood movies such as Troy and Inglourious Basterds, and as a former model she has an excellent sense of style.

Despite rarely featuring on compilation lists of the worst-dressed stars, Diane has hit out at the concept, saying she thinks people should just respect the taste of others.

Oh, people criticise me, and I dont give a damn about that. I think its all ridiculous. I think the fashion police is the silliest thing ever invented, because its so personal, right? Whos to say you cant wear something? Its silly. Everybody should wear what the hell they want, she argued in an interview with Stylist.

Diane knows that even the most glamorous of women can sometimes make the occasional fashion faux-pas, and it is for that reason she never idolises celebrities for their choice of attire. That said, she thinks fellow actresses such as Kirsten Dunst and Cate Blanchett rarely put a foot wrong in the style stakes.

I dont have icons, but I think there are people that look good. Not always; nobody looks good always. I think Kirsten Dunst and Cate Blanchett often look nice. I even like Meryl Streep because I think she looks elegant, and Jane Fonda, added Diane. (C) Cover Media
