Dominic Cooper: Fame is seductive

8th October 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dominic Cooper finds it "distasteful and repugnant" when people get too affected by fame.

Although a successful Hollywood star, Dominic prides himself on having his feet firmly on the ground. He's made a point of never getting caught up in the glitz and glamour of his job, although he knows not everyone is like him.

"I can see how seductive it can be. I've seen people who have changed and think they're more important than the friends they grew up with. I find that distasteful and repugnant," he said.

British star Dominic occasionally wonders if his attitude towards fame has affected his career. He knows American stars don't always think in the same way he does, but has no intention of changing.

"In America it can sometimes be a setback because they embrace success much more than we do in the UK," he told the November edition of UK magazine Elle.

"I've always been comfortable with who I am and not cared too much about what other people think. And I've always felt like I can adapt quite well in certain situations and read people - it's definitely part of my job to do that." (C) Cover Media
