Dr Rajasekhar is back in politics. The actor, who kept himself away from Andhra Pradesh's political scene in the recent past, is becoming a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, along with his wife and yesteryear actress Jeevitha.

"BJP is the only party which is seriously working towards eradicating corruption from the country. We have been discussing with the party's top leaders for the past few months to enroll ourselves," the actor said.

Rajasekhar added: "I will soon go to New Delhi to meet senior leaders of the BJP. I am not behind any big post in the party. All that I want is to enroll myself in the BJP and work for this great country and its people."

The Rajasekhar coupled initially joined Indian National Congress. After quitting the national party, they joined YS Jaganmohan Reddy's YSR Congress party in 2010. Later, they quit YSR Congress. They also worked in support of N Chandrababu's Naidu's Telugu Desam Party.
