(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Eddie Cibrian stripped down to his "underwear" in order to win a movie role, he has revealed.

The 38-year-old actor went in for an audition for a role in the 1998 film Living Out Loud. Dressed to impress, Eddie was unaware that he would soon have little use for his fine clothes.

"I played a masseuse in there that had to get basically down to his underwear, so I got down to my underwear in the audition," Eddie told the Rachael Ray show.

Eddie landed the role after stripping down to his pants. His co-stars believe that his excellent physique helped him acquire the part.

"[My Living Out Loud co-star] Danny DeVito told me the story later. He goes 'you know how you got hired? When you took off your pants, the camera girl [gave you the once over], looked back up and we knew that [character] was you,'"Eddie laughed.

Eddie reveals his body quite frequently for various projects. He has just shot a print campaign for bath and bedding company Charisma and shows off flesh from time to time for his role on new television show The Playboy Club.

Eddie admits that being partly nude is occasionally an incredibly awkward experience.

"Being half-naked is incredibly uncomfortable," he admitted at the time of his Charisma shoot. "Especially with everybody around watching you! But... [photographers] give you encouragement. [They say], 'My god, that's great! Man, that's beautiful. It looks great. Man, those sheets look good. Those towels look good.'" It's like wait! What about me?" (C) Cover Media
