Unexpressed love, untamed lust, murderous jealousy, rebirth and revenge was the theme set by director S. S. Rajamouli's mega hit 'Magadheera'.
Yet again, the same theme is used for his recent flick 'Eega'. However, an old story is given a fresh look and understanding.
The film is sunny-side up right from scene one, where a wafer thin story is given the royal treatment, in the form of screenplay and making.
There is no 'Eega' without the computer graphics, as the director has relied heavily on visual effects to make his film strike a chord with the audience. And it has paid him rich dividends, though the cost and efforts are understandably heavy.
Sudeep (Sudeep) is a rich, wicked businessman, who is ready to do anything in order to get his way. While he is trying his unusual tricks, he comes across Bindu (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), a beautiful and civic minded girl. Bindu's beauty enchants Sudeep who starts lusting for her.
But Bindu, who is determined is not ready to pay heed to Sudeep, as she is in love with Nani (Nani). This irks Sudeep and he is on a mission to kill Nani in which he succeeds.
This is when Sudeep's fate turns around as Nani is born again, but this time as a fly. And the story resolves around Nani teaching Sudeep a lesson, of course with the help of Bindu.
Nani gives his best performance as a simple character while Samantha proves that she is more that just a glam-doll, a brilliant actress too. Santhanam is always around to tickle the funny bone.
But the show-stealer is Sudeep, a perfect villian who makes his presence felt in a big way.
Maragadhamani's songs are good, while his background score adds more raciness. Senthil's cinematography is catchy, colorful and beyond a vibrant imagination. Other technical departments reflect the grandeur conceived by Rajamouli and the visual effects team simply stand out.
This time too, the director succeeds in his direction a great execution. So, if you guys are ready to forget which logic is necessary everywhere, then enthral yourselves with 'Eega' buzzing around near you.
