Elizabeth Taylor continues to improve

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dame Elizabeth Taylors condition has improved and she is accepting visitors in hospital.

The legendary actress was hospitalised for congestive heart failure last week. The 78-year-old has suffered on-going heart problems, receiving an official diagnosis in 2004.

She is currently being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and doctors are believed to be pleased with her progress. The star is comfortable and has been accepting visits from loved ones.

"Since being admitted there has been steady improvement in her condition, and over the weekend she has had visits from family and close friends, Sally Morrison, a representative for Elizabeth, said. Her medical team is gratified by her progress to date, and it is hoped and expected that this will continue over the next few days. For now, she will remain under their care in the hospital for continued monitoring."

It not yet known how long the Hollywood icon will remain at the hospital. However, her representative has assured her fans she is being well cared for by an expert medical team.

"Friends and fans around the world should be reassured that Elizabeth Taylor is in good hands and receiving the best possible care from her skilled and dedicated doctors and nurses," the representative added.

Elizabeths condition has been described as stable, but no other details have been released.
