The biggest clash of the titans on box-office happened on January 25, 2017 as Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' and Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaabil' released on the same day. There were many predictions about both the films right from the beginning and the box-office showed the exact results for the same. Right from adapting quirky ways of promotions to generating curiosity from its initial days, 'Raees' made sure that it topped the list of the audience. On its opening day 'Raees' pocketed a 20.42 crores and continued its horse race on Thursday too.

On the second day the film earned 26.30 crores. Trade analyst and critics Taran Adarsh tweeted the box-office report on his Twitter handle. He tweeted, "#Raees has a FANTASTIC Day 1... Wed ₹ 20.42 cr... Today [Thu; Republic Day] will witness HUMONGOUS biz again."

Just a few minutes back he tweeted, "#Raees is PHENOMENAL on Day 2. All set to pack a FAB total in its 5-day weekend. Wed 20.42 cr, Thu 26.30 cr. Total: ₹ 46.72 cr. India biz."
