(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emily Blunt has joked that she should be fired for not reading the book that inspired her new film The Adjustment Bureau.

The British actress who stars alongside Matt Damon in the upcoming film - admitted to not being familiar with Philip K. Dicks short science fiction story Adjustment Team, even though the film is based on it.

She hasnt seen Blade Runner either, the movie based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick whose work also provided the inspiration for Minority Report and Total Recall.

Its a crime, I know, I should be fired. I havent read him either... she told Empire magazine.

Despite not reading the book, the 27-year-old thinks The Adjustment Bureau deals with fascinating issues.

I mean, look back on the trail of events of our lives, all those chance meetings with people you cant live without. Its frightening. This film deals in that existential bubble we all live in, but here it gets burst, she explained.

Emily who is best known for her roles in The Young Victoria and The Devil Wears Prada plays a mysterious ballerina in the film who enters into the life of a congressman just as his political future is thrown into doubt by a series of uncontrollable events. (C) Cover Media
