Emily Blunt: Portman is better dancer

17th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emily Blunt says Natalie Portman could definitely out-tutu her.

The British actress stars as a ballet dancer in upcoming movie The Adjustment Bureau, about an affair between a politician and a ballerina which is affected by mysterious forces keeping the lovers apart.

Emily had to train incredibly hard for the role, although she admits she would probably lose in a ballet dance battle between her and Natalie who last night won a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of ballerina Nina Sayers in hit thriller Black Swan.

I loved Black Swan. Shes got some incredible gams on her, She could definitely out-tutu me! laughed Emily in an interview with Total Film.

The Adjustment Bureau also stars Hollywood hunk Matt Damon and was directed by George Nolfi, with Emily admitting she was very frank with the moviemaker when going for her audition.

The director wasnt sure whether to hire a professional dancer who could also act, but Emily was adamant that would be a bad idea. The 27-year-old actress was keen to hone her ballet skills and knew she would be able to give a convincing performance as a ballerina.

I was forthright in telling George that he needed an actor because if no one interested in the love story, then he didnt really have a movie, she explained.

And I promised him I would work my ass off in the dance studio. (C) Cover Media
