(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emily Watson says she finds ageing shocking.

The 44-year-old star is best known for her outstanding debut in Oscar-nominated film Breaking the Waves in 1996 and Angelas Ashes in 1999. She is currently starring in drama, Oranges and Sunshine, where she portrays social worker Margaret Humphreys, who uncovers the childcare scandal of forcibly relocating poor children to Australia and Canada.

With a film career spanning 17 years, Emily acknowledges that she is no longer a young woman. However, the shock of maturing on screen still manages to surprise the actress from time to time.

Its quite shocking to see yourself ageing. But somebody once said to me, 'you are a character actor who gets laid. My plan is to soldier on because Im a character actor, she told British newspaper, The Telegraph, before adding, who probably doesnt get laid quite so much as time goes by.

Despite her longevity, Emily concedes working in the film industry still provides its fair share of surprises. She has just finished filming scenes for the Steven Spielberg directed War Horse, and confirmed it was an ambition of hers to work with the director.

You have to keep pinching yourself that he is actually Steven Spielberg. I found him to be very passionate about actors. He would come in the morning and go: 'oh my God, Ive been awake all night worrying about this shot. He was like a young man, she added. (C) Cover Media
