(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Eva Longoria Parkers estranged husband has been begging for forgiveness following their split.
Earlier this week, there were reports basketball star Tony Parker had filed for divorce in Texas, where his team the San Antonio Spurs are based. The rumours were quickly shot down by Evas representative, but yesterday she filed papers in Los Angeles.
Eva cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and there have been allegations Tony was unfaithful. He is rumoured to have sent hundreds of text messages to another woman, a family friend believed to be the wife of one of his teammates, over the course of a year.
According to E! Online, Eva discovered the messages several weeks ago, with Tony desperate to be given another chance. She's been dealing with this for a long time, a source said.
Tony is begging for forgiveness. But Eva is heartbroken. He was caught red-handed.
After news of the divorce broke, Eva took to her Twitter account to confirm her marriage was over.
It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce, she wrote. We love each other deeply and pray for each others happiness.
Tony later posted the same message.
Eva also spoke to her friend, Extra TV presenter Mario Lopez. She admitted she is struggling to come to terms with the end of her marriage, and doesnt understand what went wrong.
Eva wants everyone to know, she's devastated by the rumours of Tony's infidelity. She loved her husband and is heartbroken about their split, Mario said. But she's strong.
Further allegations suggest Tony cheated on Eva soon after they wed, and has been contacting the woman via social networking website Facebook.
Sources close to Tony have said the sportsman knows the marriage is over because he went too far with the text messages, but insist he did not have a sexual relationship with the woman involved.
Eva has asked to revert to her maiden name of Longoria in divorce documents, and is being represented by Lance Spiegel. Sandra Bullock employed the same attorney during her divorce from Jesse James.
The actress has cancelled her upcoming appearances, and is said to be planning to spend the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday with her family. (C) Cover Media
