(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ewan McGregor once took a kid down for saying something mean about his brother.

The actor is extremely close to his older brother Colin, maintaining a close bond with him even though they are now 39 and 41. Even though Colin was born first, Ewan has always being fiercely protective of him, and once fought a much larger child because he had made a disparaging remark about Colin.

Hes two years older than me and has always pretty much been able to stand up for himself, but there was this time I remember at school where our dad, who was head of PE, announced that Colin, who was great at all sports, was being made the captain of cricket. One of the other kids made a remark about favouritism, so I went over and took him down, Ewan told the Radio Times.

Colin was oblivious his brother has fought a battle for him, and was touched when Ewan made the admission. He said the offending kid was much bigger than Ewan and said he was very proud of the star for taking him on.
