Farhan Akhtar said, "I think strike affects everyone – those who are participating in it and also those who are not participating like directors, producers and others. I have not enquired about it. Hopefully, we resolve it."
The actor-filmmaker has always been vocal about the issues in the society as well as the film industry and this time he shared his opinion on Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) strike in order to hike their daily wages from October 3, 2015.
According to our reliable sources in May, FWICE had threatened to go on a strike if the film and TV producers' bodies failed to renew the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with them that had expired in February. But they called off the plan following a meeting with producers.
An ultimatum has been sent by Western India Cinematographers Association to the producers regarding the same. According to reports if this is not accepted by the producers all their 22 affiliates, including WICA, will stop work from October 3.
