The Black Eyed Peas frontwoman always looks stylish, and is famed for her extravagant on-stage outfits and red carpet glamour.

The star admits her wardrobe got a little too bulging when she first became famous, because she was overwhelmed by all the free samples she got sent and thought she should keep things in case her career faltered.

Part of me was just holding on to things, thinking it was all going to go away, she confessed in the December issue of Glamour magazine.

Fergie particularly appreciates all the perks of being a celebrity such as designer samples and glamorous shoots because she was often dressed in second-hand items as a youngster. For young Fergie, going shopping for something new was a real treat.

Once in a while, my mother and I would go into this luxurious store, and Id pick out one outfit that I could buy for myself. This is the girl who got hand-me-downs from the church. So it was the most special treat in the world, she recalled. (C) Cover Media
