(Cover) - EN Star Style - Mariah Carey has designed eye-catching jewellery for her new line even though she hardly ever wears it.

The 40-year-old soloist is due to launch her new lifestyle line showcasing items including Christmas baubles, shoes and a perfume on American shopping channel HSN at the end of November.

However the glamorous star has confessed that despite creating sparkly earrings and other fancy jewellery for women to buy, she never used to be a big fan of donning accessories.

I never even used to wear jewellery. I used to wear baby earrings, tiny things, she divulged to WMD.

However, Mariah revealed that working with Elizabeth Arden on her personal fragrance inspired her to branch out her style.

She realises that putting time and effort into quality designs is a great way to express her true personality.

The star, who is currently carrying her first child, also admitted that being pregnant has made her pour her imaginative side into other avenues.

From the inception of working with Elizabeth Arden, I wanted the fragrances to represent what I really like, Mariah said. It really opened my eyes and opened the doors for me in terms of starting to think about going into other creative ventures. (C) Cover Media
