Fergie: I used interviews as therapy session

13th August 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Fergie regrets treating interviews as "therapy sessions" in the past.

The Black Eyed Peas singer leads a healthy lifestyle nowadays, and is happily married to actor Josh Duhamel.

She has been open about her wilder days, having previously confessed to embarking on a drug and sex spree when she turned 18.

The star now regrets being so candid, as she feels at one point she became too closely associated with her former self.

"Talking about my past struggles with drugs. I used to kind of use interviews as therapy sessions and just put it all out there," she explained, when the British edition of Cosmopolitan asked if she regrets saying anything in the past.

"Then every interview I did became about drugs so I wish I'd kept some of it just for myself. My past doesn't define me. It's part of what defines me, but it's definitely not the only thing. I've worked way too hard for that."

When asked about whether she feels most proud of her body, career, relationship, or the amount of money she has made, the singer had trouble deciding. Fergie is happy with all of her achievements for different reasons.

"I can't choose," she smiled. (C) Cover Media
