Andrew Garfield reluctant to discuss therapy

2nd June 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Andrew Garfield remains "reserved" when it comes to talking about therapy.

The British actor had a difficult childhood as he was the victim of bullying at school. Andrew found the Spider-Man comic books helped him cope when he was growing up.

He is reluctant to discuss how much therapy he has received and the reasons behind him seeking professional help. But he insists it has benefitted him greatly.

"Have I been to therapy? I don't know if I'm comfortable talking about that," he told UK magazine GQ. "Yes, I have been to therapy. And I'm not ashamed of it. I've always been a little reserved about it, but I've loved it."

The 28-year-old has appeared in hit films including The Social Network and can soon be seen playing the title role in The Amazing Spider-Man. He has struggled to adjust to fame, but accepts people rarely find peace within until they grow older.

"Nothing's going to make sense until we're in our sunset. And until then the clarity comes from acknowledging that I have no idea," he explained. "Just as it comes from accepting the fact that, right here and right now, everything is in chaos." (C) Cover Media
