Finally, some good news for Saxena

27th July 2011

Movie distributors T S Selvaraj and Shanmugavelu, who raised many an eyebrow in Kollywood, by filing complaints against Sun Pictures chief operating officer W Hansraj Saxena, withdrew their cases on Tuesday.

According to reports, Selvaraj and Shanmugavelu approached the Madras High Court on Tuesday, stating that they had entered into a compromise with Sun Pictures and wanted to withdraw their complaints. Justice T Sudanthiram admitted their petitions and asked the public prosecutor to get instructions from the KK Nagar police inspector Durai, the investigation officer in both cases.

Saxena was arrested on July 3rd on charges of cheating and breach of trust, based on a complaint by Selvaraj of Salem-based Kandan Films. Saxena allegedly delayed paying back Rs.82 53 lakhs to Selvaraj. After police interrogation, Saxena was placed in judicial custody starting July 8th. Shanmugavel, who is a Salem-area film distributor too, alleged Saxena and his cohorts assaulted him over a film distribution deal gone bad.
