Freida Pinto: People think I'm Brazilian

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Freida Pinto says people often think she is Brazilian.

The Hollywood actress was born in Mumbai, and is best known for her portrayal of Latika in the 2008 Academy Award winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

Despite her Indian heritage, Freida says people often think she has South American roots. The stunning star has even joked she may try "blending" in next time she visits the country to test how authentic she looks.

"Strangely enough, when I'm passing immigration at airports, I keep getting, Are you Brazilian?' all the time," she told WWD. "I'm very curious to see if that would actually happen when I'm in Brazil. I love going into a country and just blending."

Freida co-starred in Woody Allen's comedy-drama film You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, with Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins and Naomi Watts, which premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The 26-year-old star was anxious on the film's set, and insists she learnt from the experience.

"I'm not thinking about the fan pressure or anything right now," she explained.

"On the Woody Allen film set, I wasted a lot of my time being nervous, and I just feel the more you get nervous, the less you focus on the more important thing: delivering your goods." (C) Cover Media
