(Cover) - EN Showbiz - A producer working on Game's new promo has reportedly been robbed at gunpoint.
The American rapper's new single Pot of Gold is a collaboration with R&B star Chris Brown, with the pair shooting the accompanying video in South Los Angeles on Tuesday.
According to TMZ, a producer working on the release was held up by thieves and lost $12,000 worth of money and jewellery after stepping away from set for a brief moment. Law enforcement professionals told the site the man, identified as Mars, was in his car with someone else when the incident occurred.
It's alleged two men approached the vehicle, then brandished the firearm and demanded the items. They eventually made their getaway in a grey Nissan Altima car.
"Sources on the music video shoot say the producer - named Mars - had walked about a block from the set when it happened. We're told the suspects took his jewellery and his wallet ... which was stuffed with a couple thousand bucks," reports the site.
Game and Chris were on the set of the promo when they incident happened, but they weren't with Mars. Game's representative explained there were no witnesses from the set, adding people working on the video are usually accompanied by security personnel.
The promo sees the rapper return to where he grew up in Compton. He has taken his three kids to set, and explained they find it hard to understand how different his life was when he was growing up.
"The video is kinda walking back through the days when I didn't have anything, taking my son with me and showing him how we used to live," he told Rap-Up.com.
"My mom took my son back to Compton and showed them the house I grew up in. My son just couldn't believe. He fights it to this day, like, 'My dad's not from here, he's not from this place. It's dirty around here.' He just doesn't know." (C) Cover Media
