Speculations came to an end about who the comedian in 'Rana' was going to be, as Rajni has opted for Ganja Karuppu to be his comedian. He is on board after Rajni got upset with Vadivelu's (his earlier choice) election campaign. 'Rana's Director K.S.Ravi Kumar, recommended Ganja Karuppu, which he immediately agreed to.

It may be recalled that Vadivelu had shared the screen with the Superstar and played an important role in 'Chanrdramukhi as well as Kuselan but did not find a place in 'Enthiran'.

Sources say that since Vadivelu won more laurels for 'Chandramukhi' and Vivek in 'Sivaji', the mainstream comedians were sidelined in 'Enthiran', thereby picking Santhanam and Karunaas, who didn't have importance and now Ganja Karuppu, join the league.
