Garrett Hedlund: TRON movie left me stunned

13th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Garrett Hedlund has confessed the finished version of TRON: Legacy is like nothing hes ever seen before.

The 26-year-old American actor plays Sam Flynn in the move, which is the sequel to the popular and influential 1982 film TRON, made before Garrett was even born. Sam is software engineer Kevin Flynns son, who is portrayed in both the original and sequel by actor Jeff Bridges.

When Garrett saw the final product on a small screen with his friends he has admitted being in awe of what the producers had managed to achieve.

"I saw it couple weeks ago when I was in Montreal, but only with a couple pals and on a smaller Technicolor screen. But even then it was an incredible experience. It's such a high-tech adventure," Garrett told MTV News. "It's undoubtedly like anything I've ever seen before, and I think the loss for words on it is the best part of it and I can't wait to see it again."

The film plot sees Sam investigate his fathers disappearance and become embroiled in the technological virtual gaming environment where Kevin has been living for the last 20 years.

Garrett has revealed that for him, one of the proudest moments of producing the film was to see the original director, Steven Lisberger, revel in the success of his creation nearly three decades on.

"Something he created around 28 years ago and this wild maniacal story has come to fruition 28 years later in such an unbelievable way," Garrett gushed. "To see him walking with his family and enjoying this with all of us and being there when we're filming with all of us and sort of being the godfather on set, I'm more proud of him in this very moment."
