(Cover) - EN Showbiz - George Clooney may be called to testify in a trial against former Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi, it was announced today.
The actor and his ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis are one of more than 200 possible witnesses who will give evidence at the trial of Silvio who has been accused of paying for sex with a 17-year-old prostitute.
George says that he was approached by Silvio's lawyers to testify about "bunga bunga" parties but maintains that he only ever visited the premier's residence once.
The Hollywood star has stated that he went to the home on one occasion to try and get aid for one of his charities and then declined an invitation to stay.
"I wasn't at the bunga bunga party," George said in an interview with Time magazine speaking of the term that has become synonymous in Italy for orgies.
"I went to speak about Darfur It was a very interesting conversation to say the least that became a very different kind of event than anyone ever thought."
At the end of the meeting George said that he was invited to stay for a party but responded, "No, I gotta go."
The trial continues next week with the first witnesses expected to be called then.
Moroccan teen Karima el-Mahroug has also been added to the witness list. She has denied having a sexual relationship with the 75-year-old former leader. (C) Cover Media
