(Cover) - EN Showbiz - George Clooney has recovered from a bout of malaria after contracting the disease in Sudan.

The 49-year-old actor has been residing in the African country working on his Enough project in conjunction with the United Nations and Google, in a bid to put an end to genocide. While working however, it appears that George managed to contract the potentially deadly illness.

The news was revealed by chat show host, Piers Morgan who interviewed the star last week for his show set to air on Friday.

George Clooney has contracted malaria following recent trip to Sudan. Its his second bout of malaria. Taking medication but still feeling rough, Piers confirmed on his Twitter page.

But in an update to the news, according to Georges representative, the actor has since made a full recovery.

George is completely over the malaria he contracted while in the Sudan during the first week in January, the rep told X17 magazine.

The Oceans Eleven star went on to confirm that he has overcome the illness, aided by the essential medication needed when venturing to certain areas in Africa. The star believes that the advances in treatment means malaria should no longer prevent potential holidaymakers in venturing to the massive continent.

This illustrates how with proper medication, the most lethal condition in Africa can be reduced to bad ten days instead of a death sentence, he added. (C) Cover Media
