A 'killer' film!
'Go Goa Gone' is being branded as India's first 'Zom Com' as directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. introduce zombies with doses of comedy to the Indian audiences. 'Boy bonding' is one concept that is getting very popular in Bollywood, and 'Go Goa Gone' does revolve around the bonding of three close friends with the backdrop of zombies.
Hardik (Kunal Khemu) and Luv (Vir Das) are close friends, who are good for nothing, and it's their friend Bunny (Anand Tiwari), who provides them with financial support. 'Khoon Choos Le' explains their situation perfectly, with the Monday morning blues when Hardik and Luv are crawling out of bed and heading to work.
Hardik's 'doping' gets him in trouble and he ends up losing his job, while Luv gets dumped by his girlfriend, and the two tag along with Bunny, who is heading to Goa for an important work presentation. Luv meets Luna (Puja Gupta), who is one of his 2000 Facebook friends. The rendezvous in the pool at the fancy hotel is a hilarious moment. Luna is aware of Luv's recent break-up and she invites him for a rave party on an isolated island just outside of Goa.
Boris (Saif Ali Khan) belongs to the Russian mafia, and he is hosting this rave party where everyone is on a high as they dance to the 'Slowly Slowly' track. All is going well until people start consuming a 'crazy drug'.
Hardik, Luv and Bunny too are on a complete high, and when they wake-up the next morning on the island they start seeing strange things.
To start out, the three friends have no clue whether these bizarre looking people are vampires or ghosts, and it is only later that they realize that they are surrounded by zombies.
The three set out to save Luna, and encounter more zombies, and that's when Boris makes a 'killer' entry. Boris comes to their rescue, and the scenes do get quite bloody.
Director duo Krishna D.K and Raj Nidimoru try to present something very fresh to our Bollywood audience. They have managed to keep the pace of the movie fast as zombies keep appearing from all corners, however, the end of the zombies is a little abrupt.
Editor Arindam Ghatka does a good job. Cinematographers Lukasz Pruchnik and Dan Mc Arthur do a commendable job as they make the island look like the perfect 'zombie' land’.
Music of the movie is stupendous; 'Khoon Choos Le' and 'Slowly Slowly' are already toping the charts, and are placed beautifully in the movie. 'Babaji Ki Booty' is an intoxicatingly naughty song and it is played throughout the movie and also during the movie credits.
Kunal Khemu is a star in the making, he delivers the right expressions and verbal punches and he will win accolades for his performances from the critics and the audiences too. This movie will certainly give a huge boost to his fan base. Saif Ali Khan adds the star power to 'Go Goa Gone' with his perfected Russian accent. The way he says 'I kill dead people' and 'I'll be back' in Schwarzenegger style is hilarious. Vir Das is one of the funniest guys in the business; he looks stylish and his fan following too will multiply after this movie. Anand Tiwari is another great actor, and people will now take notice of his talent.
'Go Goa Gone' has ludicrousness elements even in the scariest situations with the 'what do we know and what did we learn' dialogue which will certainly get famous after this movie. And you might fall off, laughing on the extremely funny scenes when Vir Das pretends to be zombie and when Anand pisses on the zombie's feet.
With the extremely 'casual' A-graded dialogues, 'Go Goa Gone' is a great movie for the adult audiences, and it will get very popular amongst the youth.
