Goldie Hawn: Resilience is vital

20th April 2012

Goldie Hawn believes that "learning from your mistakes" is empowering.

The 66-year-old Death Becomes Her star is mother to actress Kate Hudson.

Goldie loves being a grandmother to Kate's sons Ryder, 8, and Bingham, nine-months.

She desires to teach her kin valuable life lessons as they grow.

"[I hope to teach them] to become as resilient as they can," Goldie told Us Weekly magazine. "We all get knocked down, but the measure of the man is how fast you get up. And I think that's what I'd really like to instill in the kids. We're all going to fail, we're all going to mess up, but it's not as much about that as it is learning from your mistakes and getting up real fast."

Kate was rumoured to be planning her wedding to Muse singer Matthew Bellamy, but Goldie confirms that this speculation is inaccurate.

"There's no prepping for a wedding," Goldie revealed. "She's very happy. She's a great mum, the baby's beautiful, and they'll get married when they're ready."
