Acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's most ambitious film 'Gangs of Wasseypur' got critical acclaim all over the world when it was screened at the international Cannes film festival earlier this year.
The film however had an exceptional peculiarity as its running time was longer than any Bollywood film, that is 5 hours and 20 minutes. But regardless of its long running time the film was not only screened completely at Cannes but it also got a standing ovation from the critics there.
However inspite of this feat, Anurag was skeptical of audiences reaction to such a long film in India, hence he decided to release the film in two parts.
While the first part released just recently, the second part is on the verge of release already. But citing the fact that the film got unprecedented response from the audience, the makers along with the release of the second part are planning to release the complete film in selected screens all over Mumbai.
Anurag has joined hands with PVR to release the complete film in selected screens in Lower Parel, Juhu and other screens in Mumbai.
This will not only increase the chance of raking moolah, but also offer the golden opportunity for the people who missed the first part to catch it all together at one go.
