(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow has called her grandmother a **** who tried to poison her mother against her.

The American actress is currently promoting her new cookbook My Fathers Daughter, which was inspired by her late father Bruce Paltrow who died in 2002.

She has appeared on US television host Chelsea Handlers talk show to discuss the tome, which sparked a discussion about family. The actress and host began talking about their grandmothers, and realised they both had German relatives. Chelsea let slip that hers wasnt that nice, with Gwyneth admitting she had a difficult relationship with her mothers mom.

Mine was a real ****, she said.

She just hated my guts, basically, and she tried to poison my mother against me. She was just tough. She must not have been very happy and she must have had a lot of pain because she was as mean as hell.

Gwyneth is passionate about eating healthily, which stems from her dads battle with cancer. She hoped improving his diet would help him live longer, and its something which has stuck with her.

The actress has six-year-old daughter Apple and son Moses, five, with her husband Chris Martin and encourages them to eat well too. They all enjoy cooking together, with Gwyneth saying Moses can crack eggs like nobodys business.

Apple is also interested in food despite her tender years shes already decided shes a vegetarian. Gwyneth has tried to get her to eat meat to no avail, so has now accepted her decision. (C) Cover Media
