Her real ambition was to make herself big in modeling, but Anushka Sharma was destined to become popular as an actor. The Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress turns a year older today.

Anushka was born in 1 May 1988 into an Army family and the discipline and punctuality is in her blood which has acquired from her Colonel father. She is one of the few lucky actresses in Bollywood who took their first step into acting opposite Shah Rukh Khan. 

Her 2010 flick Band Baaja Baarat was an overnight success and it brought into her kitty, the IIFA Award for the Best Actress. 

With only five movies released, Anushka is already a star in Bollywood and is also one of the ‘most wanted’ actresses of the industry. 

Anushka is currently busy with Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Yash Chopra’s untitled project.
